HOME ADAPTATION PROGRAM (PAD)

OPTION 1 – PROFESSIONAL COACHING

OPTION 2 – SELF-DETERMINED NEEDS AND JOBS

  • Maximum assistance $12,000 per eligible person (for exterior access adaptations) – $12,000 for exterior access adaptations

The Home Adaptation Program (HAP) of the Société d’Habitation du Québec (SHQ) is designed to help people with disabilities, i.e. those who have impairments that result in significant and persistent incapacity, and who encounter obstacles in carrying out their daily activities. The main objective of the PAD is to facilitate the mobility of people with disabilities inside and outside their homes, to enable them to access essential parts of their homes, and to help them carry out their daily activities in complete safety. The program offers financial support to owners of homes occupied by disabled people to carry out adaptation work.

B – SMALL ACCESSIBLE ESTABLISHMENTS – PEA

  • Maximum assistance $30,000 per eligible facility
  • The amount of the subsidy is calculated by applying an aid rate of 90% to the recognized cost.

The aim of the Petits Établissements Accessibles (PEA) program is to improve accessibility for people with disabilities or reduced mobility in small establishments. Owners and tenants of commercial, professional and meeting establishments that are not subject to a legal obligation in terms of accessibility can benefit from this program.

C – AIDS TO DAILY AND DOMESTIC LIFE PROGRAM VIA CISSS OR CIUSSS

This program enables people with a disability or autism spectrum disorder to obtain essential equipment to carry out their daily and domestic activities at home.

If you are a tenant, first consult your landlord to find out whether he or she agrees to the adaptation of your dwelling, and ask him or her to complete the part of the form that concerns him or her.

Are you receiving the tax credit Amount for severe and prolonged impairment in mental or physical functions? You can authorize Revenu Québec to confirm to the SHQ your eligibility for this credit, by completing the consent form (151 KB)and attaching it to your Program Registration form.
